The Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development delegation in Asia has another success story to share, this time announcing South Korean brake company DuraMax will be opening its first North American office in Gwinnett.

“The support of the local and state economic development organizations has been incredible,” said Yon Yu, president of DuraMax and Mira VC, Inc. “We look forward to becoming an outstanding member of the Gwinnett County community.”

The announcement was made during a 12-day business mission trip to Asia to announce multiple new companies coming to Gwinnett County while exploring trade and export opportunities, recruiting direct foreign investment and building relationships in the region.

Delegates led by Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development are meeting with prominent members of government and corporate communities in China and South Korea to explore new business opportunities. The delegates are aiming to raise awareness of Georgia and Gwinnett as a key location for investment from these nations.
“It’s a testament to Georgia’s strong manufacturing network when cutting-edge companies such as DuraMax choose our state to locate their new facility,” said Yoonie Kim, senior project manager for the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

“DuraMax will serve as a magnet for suppliers that produce automotive parts for the company as well as strengthen our automotive supplier chain.”
The company’s 12,234-square-foot facility in Gwinnett will house it’s American warehouse operation as the company expands its position into the brake systems industry in the United States and other global markets.

“When companies like DuraMax select Gwinnett for their U.S. HQ and R&D testing operations, a powerful message is sent to companies around the world,” said Andrew Carnes, director of economic development for the GCED. “Gwinnett offers an incredible combination of assets for international companies to grow and expand.”
